Maddie is very particular about what she likes.
She loves hats.
She does not love hair accessories . . . ponytail holders, barrettes, headbands . . . she hates them all with a passion. Almost as much as she hates getting her tangles brushed out.
So I finally decided the only solution was shorter hair.
I really didn't think it was going to go well as she flips her lid every time I brush her hair, but she sat in the seat, and got her hair squirted down, brushed, cut, blown out, and styled without a peep. I was in shock. The ladies at the salon probably thought I was dimwit because I kept gushing "Oh my gosh, you are such a good girl, Mommy is so proud of you."
The only reason I put it off for so long is I was afraid if I got her a bob she would look like Dora the Explorer. They did a little bit of an inverted bob on her and she looks, I think, totally adorable, and nothing like Dora.
Adorable...I had that same haircut when I was little...except I had an awful cowlick that split my bangs apart...
ReplyDeleteToo precious-- I think she is enjoying her new do!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love bobs on little girls :o) Of course, I have an Anne Hathaway long-bob of my own right now, so maybe I should just say "I love bobs" :o)
ReplyDeleteShe is precious!! Fortunately for me, my brother is a barber so he cuts my kids hair. I've not been brave enough to go to short with my Lu's hair yet....she does "ok" with hair clips & bows. But I LOVE short hair on little girls!! Now I just need to convince my hubs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie pie! My daughter can't stand anything in her hair either, but she doesn't have enough hair for a bob yet. I'm going to have to chop her bangs soon because they are getting rediculous!
ReplyDeletePretty sure this was my haircut at that age, too. Ahhh, memories!
