The Los Angeles County Fair

I love the fair. It was such a major part of my childhood. This year we got season passes and we've already been twice, with plans to go back at least two more times!

Here are just a few things you can do at the LA County fair: Get your teeth whitened, buy an LA Dodgers themed coffin and/or urn, eat chocolate covered bacon, buy a squirmy wormy, see life-sized animated dinos, dress up like a knight or princess and play in a princess house . . .
see pirates do acrobatics, go through an ice city, see a cow give birth, pet goats, get an accupressure massage, buy a mattress, eat fried clams, s'mores, twinkies (you name it and someone has already thought to fry it) . . .
see a monkey show, look at quilts, look at fancy table settings, ride ponies, watch a blacksmith make a horseshoe, buy a geode, watch a Roy Rogers Rangers mounted horseback shooting competition . . .
and much, much more!

Riding the ponies

Saturday we went to the Los Angeles County Fair and Maddie went for a ride on a pony with no mommy or daddy walking alongside! She did great, we are so proud! Her pony's name was Dr. Pepper and here are some pictures:

I'm a Pepper, he's a Pepper,
She's a Pepper, we're a Pepper,
Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?
Be a Pepper. Drink Dr Pepper.

The Adventures of Maddie - Los Angeles County Fair Edition

On September 5th, Maddie and I went with Liz and Daniel to the opening day of the Los Angeles County Fair. Because it was the opening day admission was only $1!

The day was packed full of activities, we saw all of the animals, we took the traditional hot dog on a stick picture (Maddie's got to be the hot dog), we had yummy chocolate milk and ice cream (Maddie even tasted Mommy's ice cream!), we went shopping, we played in the snow and much, much more!
